A lot of great players such as Sir Vivian Richards, Sir Gary Sobers, Brian Charles Lara, Sir Andy Roberts, Sir Curtly Ambrose etc. hailed from this team. West Indies have had some of the best players in every era and due to the aggressive cricket they have been playing for a long time, they have garnered success in a lot of tournaments they have played as a team. Thus you as a fan must also be waiting for the West Indies T20 World Cup Squad to be announced. But all we can do for you is to predict the squad for you. And that we have already done for you. Following are some of the players that we think are going to be a part of West Indies’ campaign for this T20 World cup. They are the defending champions after all who took away the title from England in a breathtaking finale last season. Will they be able to defend their title this time? Let’s ride the tide of time to know about it.

  1. Kieron Pollard
  2. Hayden Walsh Jr
  3. Darren Bravo
  4. Lendl Simmons
  5. Evin Lewis

Kieron Pollard

Pollard can be considered a specialist when it comes to limit over formats of the game. Although he debuted for Windies in 2007, his career took off when he was picked up by Mumbai Indians in 2010. He had modest stats when MI selected him for IPS session but what they selected him for was his ability to hit the bat hard. That auction for him turned his world upside down and made him a T20 sensation. He garnered a lot of experience in the franchise cricket over the years. He can be considered to be one of the most experienced players for windies in this format. Numerous times he chose franchise cricket over playing for his national side. He was instrumental for the teams he played for all these times.

His athletics in the field and decent medium makes him an ideal choice for this format. Right now he is captaining his in the T20 internationals. Pollard’s athletic fielding and ability to ball and bat makes him a valuable asset for the team and will be in West Indies T20 world cup squad for this season.

Hayden Walsh Jr

Hayden Walsh Jr is a windies cricketer who first played for the USA. Coming from a family where his father and uncle, both were phenomenal players in the domestic circuit, Hayden had a perfect environment where he nourished his cricketing skills. He debuted in the international scene for the USA against the United Arab Emirates last year. Those were the first international matches played by the USA team. He also represented States in different ODI matches before being selected by Cricket West Indies for their series against Afghanistan in India. He also debuted for windies in ODIs against Afghanistan in the same series. Thus making him one of the few players who have played for two teams in international matches.

He is currently some of the best bowlers windies have in the T20 format and thus makes an automatic choice in the West Indies T20 world cup squad. His wrong ones bamboozled Indians on their home soil, and his highlight in the games was when he got the scalp of India’s premier batsman Virat Kohli. If the youngster holds his nerves, he sure as hell can be a key to winning some matches for his team

Darren Bravo

Bravo is also one of those players which you can consider as a specialist when it comes to the limited-overs format of cricket. For years he has dominated the limited formats for his country whenever he wasn’t playing due to his recurring injuries. Handy with both bat and ball, he adds another level of charisma in the lineup. He bamboozled a lot of batsmen with his slower ones and has some quick knocks with the bat there and there. If not for his commitment to the franchises, he could have played for his national side a lot more. Due to these commitments, he also pulled out of a central contract that would have bound him to play for the windies all the time.

His profile in the T20 matches speaks for itself. He has played a total of 451 T20 matches scoring over 6000 runs with an impressive strike rate. With such an impressive record, he has always been the prime choice for franchise owners when making their squads for the tournaments. He was also instrumental in the West Indies’ last successful campaign of the T20 world cup.

He has everything that a team needs in its T20 players, handy with the old ball and new, power hitter of the bat, and athletic when it comes to fielding. Fielding is an important perspective as it wins you matches nowadays. Thus we can predict his presence in the West Indies’ squad of the T20 world cup in 2022.

Lendl Simmons

Lendl Simmons, an impressive versatile opening batsman, is one of the fiery T20 specialists from West indies. With the ability to play shots in every nook of the ground, it becomes difficult for fielding side to set any field for him. Simmons made his international debut back in 2006, and over the years has made a successful limited-overs career for himself, not only in his national side but in different franchises around the globe. Despite a disappointing career in Test matches, Simmons has made a name for himself in limited-overs format, especially in T20 cricket, being a constant source of fast runs in the initial phase of the game. He helped his teams win a lot of matches along the span of his long career in franchises.

He was also instrumental for Windies in their way to final of 2016 T20 world cup when he steered his team towards 192 targets given by India. Thus, windies found themselves in the final of the tournament, which they successfully won. Hence, Simmons crucial role in the batting lineup of windies cannot be ignored by Cricket West Indies, and he is certainly going to be the part of West Indies T20 World cup squad.

Evin Lewis

Like his mentor Chris Gayle, Evin likes to hit big and hit them out of the park. Like most of his peers, he specializes in t20 cricket. He is a modern T20 batsman in a true sense and performs big in important matches, which accounts for his ability to hold his nerves in important matches. He has also played for franchises and proved himself to be a match-winner in the format.

Right now, He is west indie’s best batsman in the format and will be part of T20 World cup squad for his team.

West Indies T20 World Cup Squad Date

The windies have always played entertaining cricket, whether it is Test, ODIs or T20 internationals, and that is why fans are always left holding their seats when they are watching them play. All of these fans around the world and all the cricket gurus wait for Cricket West Indies to announce their Squad for T20 world cup 2022.

Although no officials from the governing bodies have announced the date for when they will announce the squads, we can speculate that they will announce the squads sometime before the start of the T20 World cup. We can guess that Cricket West Indies will announce the name of the players from the squads sometime during the mid of August to September 2022. The world cup is going to start on the 18th of October 2022, so they have to announce the squads at least a month earlier. That is our speculation, and we are pretty much sure that they will announce the squads during these days.

Australia Squad – T20 World Cup 2022

T20 World Cup 2022 Australia Squad

Australians hold an important position in the world’s cricket and fans wait about every detail about Australia’s T20 World cup squad this season. Aussies hold an important place in the world of cricket and are one of the oldest teams, having played the very first test match and also the very first T20 match.

The first t20 match ever was played between Aussies and the Kiwis. So it wouldn’t be wrong to say that Australians are pioneers of modern-day cricket that we all play and enjoy nowadays. With such a rich cricketing history, fans follow the Aussies very avidly, and supporters would like to know the details about when Cricket Australia is going to announce the Australia T20 World Cup Squad for ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Australia T20 World Cup Squad Date

Australians rank 2nd in the ICC Men’s T20 Ranking and have a huge following worldwide. All the fans of Cricket Australia are waiting for every single detail they can get about Australia’s T20 World Cup squad, but to our dismay, Cricket Australia hasn’t yet disclosed any details regarding the matter under discussion. Much is left to our speculation. Last time for the 2016 T20 World cup they announced the t20 world cup squad about a month before the advent of the t20 world. So we can also guess that this time Cricket Australia is going to announce the team between August and September 2022. We can only wait for when the officials to give any details about the matter under discussion.

Australia T20 World Cup Squad Prediction

Australia is full of cricketing talent; it is difficult to get into the national side because of the level of competition there is in the domestic and international circuits. Their internal cricket structure makes it competitive, and players are filtered through a lot of tough matches and strict fitness regimes before they get to enter into the national cricket team and represent the Australian cricket team. Being a superpower in the cricketing world, Cricket Australia has a reputation to maintain, and thus, it would be too harsh on them to expect them to announce a squad this early.

However, we, as fans, can get a little speculative and guess the team based on stats on some of the players in the Australian cricketing circuit. The following are some of the players who we think can get a place in the T20 World cup squad.

  1. Aron Finch
  2. Steven Smith
  3. David Warner
  4. Pat Cummins
  5. Mitchell Starc
  6. Adam Zampa
  7. Ashton Agar
  8. Glenn Maxwell

Aron Finch

The first and the most obvious choice when it comes to predicting the Australian T20 World Cup Squad 2022 is their captain Aron Finch. Finch is a bombastic T20 batsman and ranks 2nd in ICC T20 Batsman ranking. He has always been an automatic selection when it comes to the limited-overs format and is an aggressive batsman that has steered Aussies to a number of victories. Finch was also tried in a couple of test matches, but his modest record in the longer format of the game has left him to concentrate all of his talents in the shorter formats of cricket. And rightly so finch has been an in-demand batsman when it comes to different T20 leagues around the world.

He has played for seven different IPL franchises and has also played for Yorkshire and Surrey. Finch’s t20 records are also pretty impressive, with a batting average of 38.32 with a strike rate of about 156. He has also scored two centuries and 11 half-centuries T20I. All of these stats point him out to be a solid choice for the T20 world cup squad this season.

Steven Smith

Starting as a leg-break bowler to being one of the best batsmen in the world, Steven smith’s journey as a cricketer has been a wild ride indeed. Steven Smith, through sheer hard work and dedication, and passion for his game, has become Australia’s best batsman since the great Sir Donald Bradman. He was always considered to be a naturally gifted player. But he wasn’t empty of flaws either. His techniques had lots of problems, and he didn’t have a solid stance at the pitch. But he trained on his shortcomings and came back stronger and harder. He was also instrumental in Australia’s successful campaign of ICC ODI World Cup 2015, is the leading run-scorer for his team.

He is also an experienced T20 batsman, playing with numerous franchises all over the world. Although his bowling has regressed with time, he still can bowl an over or two. Anyhow, his batting skills are what makes him a force to be reckoned with in the shorter formats of the game, and thus he is the player that we should all be wary of in this season of the T20 world cup since he is going to cash the home advantage to the fullest as he did in 2015 World cup.

David Warner

David Warner has established himself as one of the best openers for his team in all the formats of the game. Whether it is test cricket or T20, he can switch gears according to the situation and has proven himself to be a match-winner for the Australian cricket team.

His importance in the team is huge, such that he was named as he was made vice-captain to Steven Smith in all formats of the game. Warner started his career as a T20 specialist and was the firsts man since 1877, to play for his national side without playing a single first-class match. No one ever considered him to be a batsman for the longer format of the game, but he proved himself to be a solid batsman in all formats of the game.

Averaging 30 with an impressive strike rate of 140, David warner is an impressive T20 batsman and has played in franchises all over the world. He has about eight 100s and 73 50s in the format, making him the ultimate choice for the T20 world cup squad.

Pat Cummins

Debuting early in the 2011s, Pat Cummins has been Australia’s pace spearhead lately. Following the ball-tampering scandal, he became the Australian side’s shining star showed great performances with the ball with a nine-wicket haul. Pat Cummins has been playing franchise cricket for a long time and had successful stead with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. During his stead with IPL, he had some useful bowling sessions with the great Wasim Akram, which certainly proved helpful to the young fast bowler.

Cummins has excellent stats when it comes to bowling in T20 internationals. He has taken 32 wickets in 25 matches with an impressive economy rate of 6.77. His ability to take wickets along with controlling the run rate makes him an excellent weapon for Aussies and useful addition in the bowling arsenal. Currently, he is a vice-captain for Australia in all the formats and is also a useful lower-order batsman. And probably the peak of his career highlights can be considered the fact that he has now named as ICC test cricketer of the year.

Pat Cummins with such outstanding achievements, makes for an automatic choice of Australia’s T20 World Cup squad, and it will be exciting to see him in action.

Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc can be considered as Australia’s spearhead with the new ball in all the formats of the game, and his ability to swing the ball into the right-handed batsman makes him a dangerous baller to face early in the game. In 28 T20 international matches that Starc has played, he took 39 wickets with an impressive run rate of 6.74. Starc’s energy and charisma as a fast bowler and his furious pace make him a useful asset on bouncy pitches of his home country, which is going to host the T20 World Cup 2022.

Starc also was instrumental in his country’s success in the 2015 world cup. This time the tournament is also going to be held in Australia, and thus, having him on the team is going to be an advantage for the team. His pace, along with great control over the swing, made him unplayable during the 2015 ICC World cup. Thus, we can all expect him to be a part Australia T20 World Cup Squad for sure.

Adam Zampa

Just like his fellow teammate Steven Smith, Zampa’s career is nothing short of huge changes. He first started off as a medium-paced bowler. But due to restrictions put up by Cricket Australia about how many fast bowlers could play in the Under 14s, he started to bowl leg break. Adam, with a run-up and style similar to that of legendary Shane Warne, became a leading spin bowler for his country.

With slight pace variations and a googly and flipper, Zampa makes up for his lack of spin produced in contact with the pitch. He has some awesome stats in t20 cricket as a bowler, taking 28 wickets in 27 matches with an impressive economy rate of 6.15. This ability of his to control runs made him the most successful bowler for Aussies in the 2016 T20 world cup.

Adam has some impressive record when it comes to the T20 format of the game. He was Australia’s most successful bowler for the last T20 world cup, as we have mentioned before, with an average of 13.8 and an economy of 6.27. These stats cemented his place for further matches with his national side. He also played in IPL the following year and took the tournament’s second-best bowling figures, taking six wickets for 19 runs, second only to Pakistan’s Sohail Tanvir. Thus Zampa can be a certain choice for Cricket Australia when they announce Australia’s T20 World Cup Squad.

Ashton Agar

Ashton agar is a left-arm orthodox spinner who plays for Australia in all formats of the game. Handy with the bat later on in the order, he is considered to be a bowling all-rounder. During his debut test match, he made 98 runs coming at number 11, saving his team from a batting disaster.

He can vary the pace and spin the ball, bamboozling the batsmen, making it difficult for them to hit him for runs. He has an overall economy of 6.92 in 21 T20 international matches and been in the form lately in the format. If he can impress the selectors of Cricket Australia, his place in the T20 World cup squad is very likely.

Glenn Maxwell

Maxwell is considered to be Australia’s premier batsman in Limited over formats of the game. He is one of the quickest batsmen out there to make runs on the pitch. His ability to play unorthodox shots all over the field makes it difficult for the fielding side to set any set field for him. He plays a pivotal role in the middle order for the Australian batting lineup. Glenn Maxwell has been a specialist when it comes to the T20 format.

Maxwell steered his teams to victory numerous times due to his risk-taking and bombastic strike rate. He is a hard hitter of the ball and doesn’t know when to stop. Maxwell recorded for the fastest fifty in the history of Australian domestic cricket and the Second fastest ODI century in world cup history and fastest by any Australian.

He also has a lot of experience playing T20 cricket all over the world and is handy with the ball. He ranks 2nd in ICC all-rounders rankings and is a crucial part of the Australian T20 side. Thus he is undoubtedly going to be a part of the Australia T20 World Cup Squad.

T20 World Cup 2020 Qualified Team List

This ICC Men’s T20 world cup is going to be the seventh edition of the tournament. 2. Australia

T20 World Cup Best Team

Whenever there is any sporting tournament, we all have our favorites, and it’s just a matter of personal preference. You might have a different team that you can regard as best in this t20 world cup. I have some opinions regarding the best teams in this t20 world cup. It’s just all relative, and we are all free to have different opinions. According to my personal opinion and statistics, I have two teams that I consider to be the T20 world cup best teams. First is the number one ranking T20 team Pakistan and second ones are the Aussies who are going to have the massive advantage of playing at the home grounds

Pakistan

Pakistan is the most unpredictable team when it comes to cricket in general. There is no consistency to them when it comes to performing in cricket. On their day they might become unbeatable and win the matches from the most bizarre scenarios, and they may lose an already won match from a really low ranking team when the lady luck is not on their side. T20 cricket, in general, is such a format of the game where the stats, the experience, the technique become irrelevant. All that matters in this format is the luck of the team or even the luck of a single individual.

All in all, it’s a perfect format for a team like the Pakistan cricket team and right now, Pakistan despite not showing any individual performances in One-day internationals or Test matches are ranking number one in the T20 format of the game. Pakistan cricket team has some perfect time when it comes to T20 cricket.

They played the final of the very first T20 world cup, won the next one and have had some of the best T20 players in the whole world like Umar Gul, Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir and now their most promising player in the format Babar Azam. Due to such an outstanding form and rhythm that the team has had in the past year, it won all the 6 T20i series that Pakistan played with the exception of the Sri Lankan cricket team. That is the reason that it will not be wrong if we regard Pakistan as one of the best T20 world cup teams this season and strong contenders for the tournament.

Australia

Ranking just below Pakistan in ICC T20I rankings, Aussies are going to be tough customers this edition of the t20 world cup. Aussies, despite now playing much t20 cricket last year showed an outstanding result in the three series that they played, winning two of them against Sri Lanka and India. But one thing that we must not forget is that Australians are going to have a massive advantage in their home conditions. They cashed this well when they played the 2015 edition of the world cup on their home soil and won the finals against New Zealand.

They sure are going to be a force to be reckoned with in this T20 world cup as they will be playing in known conditions and will have massive support from their home. Out of 43 T20 matches that the Aussies played on their home grounds, they won 27 of them with an outstanding Win-loss ratio of 1.9. This certainly makes Australia the Best T20 world cup team this season.

T20 World Cup Official Squad Announcement

The teams are yet to announce their squads for the ICC men’s T20 world cup 2022. Last time in the 2016 T20 world cup the teams were announced about a month earlier than the start of the tournament. They have to give names to ICC as they are the main organizers and have to keep in mind the reserve players as well if some issue comes forward in case of injury. So we can expect the squads to be announced somewhere between August to September.

Expected T20 World Cup Teams Squads

You might be wondering when the teams are going to announce their squads for the T20 world cup. We are all waiting for them to announce the squads as none of the 16 teams have announced their teams yet. Although we can look forward to different players of different teams who have a solid chance of representing their teams in this T20 world cup. These are the match winners that have a solid chance of being selected into the t20 world cup teams for their countries.

India

First of all, we all must look out for Virat Kohli. A proven match-winner throughout his career Virat is always a beacon of hope when it comes to pulling his team out of difficult situations. And his T20 record is nothing to be stumbled upon. He is one of the best t20 batsmen in the whole world and has an outstanding record when it comes to his time in T20 world cups. Virat was a man of the series for the last two world cups that he played in 2014 and 2016 with an impressive batting average of over 100 runs in both of these world cups. He certainly is going to be a key player for the Indian cricket team.

Pakistan

Babar Azam for Pakistan is undoubtedly one of those players who have cemented a name for themselves in the T20 format. With an average of 50 in T20i, Babar with his reliable technique and calmness has a different vibe to him. For the young batsman, it surely is the time of his career and with excellent stead with the bat this season, Babar is one of the key players for Pakistan this world cup.

For the hosts, Aron finch is one of the best T20 batsmen. Ranking only below the young Babar Azam, finch has an outstanding record in the T20s. Averaging 38 with a bombastic strike rate of 156, he will be a match-winner for Australia in this T20 world cup.

New Zealand

For the kiwis, Colin Munro is the player that is going to be their hope when chasing bigger targets in this T20 world cup. The batsman standing in the top tens of the T20 batting ranking list is going to be crucial for the success of the Kiwis this season. The playing conditions are going to be similar to his home, and this adds a little more advantage to him that he can undoubtedly cash for his team.

England

Dawid Malan is proving to be a sturdy batsman to the English side in the format. Averaging over 57, the batsman has risen above the ranks recently with his bombastic performances and a fierce strike rate of 156. He certainly is a powerhouse with the bat and is a player that the opponents should look out for when going up against England this season.

Afghanistan

It is the first time for Afghanistan that they have qualified for any ICC event directly and their young Rashid Khan has undoubtedly made it a possibility for them. In T20s he ranks top amongst the bowlers and can deceive the batsmen with his variations, making it difficult for them to hit him in the T20 format. Though inconsistent with the bat, Rashid khan can be handy with the bat making him a valuable asset for the afghans in this tournament.
