- Babar Azam
- Naseem Shah
- Haris Sohail
- Shada Khan
- Shaheen Shah Afridi
- Muhammad Amir
- Hari Rauf
- Iftikhar Ahmad
- Wahab Riaz
- Imad Wasim
Since his debut in the international cricket, Babar has been a fascinating talent and a treat to watch for the cricket fans. His solid technique and calm composure have led to his success in international cricket, especially when it comes to limited-overs cricket. Babar has excellent stats in One Day International and T20 internationals with batting averages of 54 and 50, respectively. He provides calmness to the batting line up and successfully has taken over the role of a one-down batsman. He is currently ranking top among the batsman is the T20 rankings and had a nice run with the club tournaments in England.
With such an amazing talent, Babar is sure to make it into the Pakistan T20 world cup squad.
Pakistan has always been considered as the home of fast bowlers and has always been giving the world of cricket new and exciting young talent when it comes to fast bowlers. With icons like Imran, Wasim, Waqar, and Shoaib, Naseem has a high standard that he has to maintain and a name to uphold. Naseem Shah, a sixteen-year-old fast bowler, amazed the world of cricket with his furious pace and became the youngest fast bowler to take five wickets in an innings in a Test match.
At such a young age, the fast bowler has amazed the whole world, and with hard work and resilience, he sure is to confirm his spot in the upcoming edition of the T20 world cup. And who wouldn’t want to see this young right-arm fast bowler on the pitches of Australia. Who knows what this young fast bowler will be capable of on those conditions. That is why it is highly likely that PCB will show interest in this if he shows some excellent performance with the ball in the upcoming Pakistan Super League that will be played from February this year.
Haris Rauf is another example of fast bowling talent in Pakistan. He was discovered by Lahore Qalandars’ team management in an open trial for the PSL. With his brisk pace and amazing talent, he secured a place in the Hobart Hurricanes following the injury faced by the South African quickie Dale Steyn but secured his place in the team. With is street smartness with the bowl and passion for fast bowling, Haris bamboozled the batsmen in BigBash and already has a five-wicket haul and a hat-trick.
Hari’s eyes for his spot in the upcoming edition for the T20 world cup will be played in Australia and has high hopes for his selection in the team. But that is up to PCB and team of selectors that will review his performances in PSL and further domestic matches. But with his passion and hard work and high pace, Haris is likely to get a place in the T20 squad for the T20 world cup.
Shaheen Shah Afridi
With such a cute little face pasted on a huge 6ft body, Shaheen is a typical fast bowling talent from Pakistan. With an elder brother who already had represented the national side in a test match, Shaheen was raised in a cricketing environment. He was already on the radar on national selectors due to his performances in under 19s and then later on, with his brilliant performances with the bowl in PSL representing Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen sealed his place into the national side and then began a line of international performances that made Shaheen Afridi the spearhead of Pakistan’s fast bowling attack.
With an excellent record like he has in the T20 format, Shaheen will be in the squad for this T20 world cup and once again show the whole world why he is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to bowling in limited-overs format.
Discovered in the 2017 edition of HBL PSL, Shadab was an excellent young legspinner who could turn the ball well and had a whole set of variations that made him suitable for bowling in t20 matches.
Shadab Khan is also a handy batsman in the lower order that increases his worth even more in the limited-overs format. Shadab khan later cemented his place in the t20 and ODI teams with his outstanding ability to take wickets while keeping the runs under control. This makes him an ideal bowler for the t20 format and an ideal contender to be in the Pakistani squad for the T20 world cup.
With such an adroitness with the ball, Muhammad Amir was selected in a talent hunt by Wasim and Imran khan. His ability to seam and swing the ball at high pace and smartness with the ball in the later stages of the game made him a premier fast bowler for Pakistan’s side and a leading fast bowler. But following his fixing scandal, he was banned from playing cricket. Since his return to the international cricket scene, he has proven himself to be a spearhead for Pakistan’s bowling attack and provides early breakthroughs.
With his wicket-taking ability with the new ball and ability to contain runs, it is not impossible to say that Amir surely is going to play this edition of the t20 world cup if the fast bowler is able to retain his form and fitness until the final selection of the team.
With continuous hard work and outstanding performances in the domestic cricket, Iftikhar finally came into the radar of national selector for his selection into the Pakistan squad. He made his debut into the national side in 2015 but failed to impress the selectors due to his poor performances. But since then, he has made a strong comeback in the national squad. Averaging 50 in List A matches with an impressive strike rate he was selected in the T20 side and since then has been performing well.
He is the hard-hitting batsman that the Pakistani side was craving since the retirement of Shahid Afridi and if he retains this kind of performance, he is sure to cement his place in the upcoming T20 world cup squad
With his furious pace, Wahab Riaz filled in the shoes of legendary Shoaib Akhtar and has some good performances here and there since his debut into the international cricket but has been inconsistent. But with his recent performance in the T20 leagues can steer him in the Pakistan T20 World cup squad this season.
Wahab is also quit the longer formats of the game, eyeing his place in the T20 squad, and if he can impress the selectors and management with his performances, he sure will be an excellent addition to the team. His pace and handiness with the bat later in the batting order make him a good asset for the T20 team.
Following his performances in the domestic circuit, Rizwan was selected in the national team. With his batting skills and wicket-keeping, he is a valuable asset to the team he plays in. Since the dropping of former captain Sarfaraz Ahmad, it made way for Rizwan in the team back again and if he proves his worth in the PSL, selectors sure will consider him back in the squad.
With his pace variations and drift in the ball, Imad is a classic left-arm spinner. He is also handy with the bat when the situation calls for it and has saved his team numerous times when need be. Thus Imad can be a useful addition to the Pakistan T20 World Cup Squad 2020.
These were the players can be selected in the squad for the T20 world cup. Only time will tell if these players are selected or not, but let’s just see how these players perform and end up being selected in the side or not.
